There is a new publication from the ZOTERAC project entitled "Multisubband Plasmons in Doped ZnO Quantum Wells" by Montes Bajo et al. in Physical Review Applied. This publication has been selected as Editor's Suggestion, something achieved by only around 13 % of the papers published in the journal.
Its full text can be read here.
Multisubband Plasmon (MSP) dispersion relation. ω to n2D dispersion relation calculated from a dielectric function model. (Top) MSP resonance calculated expressing εz as a sum of Lorentzian resonators. The dotted horizontal lines indicate the original energies of the e1 → e2 and e2 → e3 transitions calculated from the self-consistent solution of the Schrödinger and Poisson equations. Dashed white lines indicate the maxima on the absorption spectra. Note how when the MSP reaches ω23 the e1 → e2 transition gradually disappears (Bottom) Evolution of the phonon resonance with electron density due to the MSP-phonon coupling. Horizontal lines indicate the E1(LO) and E1(TO) frequencies from the ZnO QW. From Montes Bajo et al. Phys. Rev. Applied 10, 024005 (2018) |
